We’re really excited to welcome our newest trustee, Morven Lean.

Morven heads up Alzheimer’s Society’s Strategic Change team, where she secures and develops strategic, income-generating partnerships with large national corporates. Her work helps ensure regulators and businesses across various sectors meet the complex and varied needs of vulnerable customers, including those living with and affected by dementia.

By working directly with people with lived experience, she ensures that businesses meet the needs of customers and employees affected by dementia (and various other conditions) by improving their processes, products and environment through inclusive design.

When she’s not at work, Morven is a competitive long-distance runner and triathlete, and has enjoyed training with – and winning – titles for the Gateshead Harriers and the Highgate Harriers.

In 2015, Morven was diagnosed with hypertension, which she managed to control over the past several years with various hypertensive medications. In 2022, she was able to come off all medication when she started following a very low-salt diet. Now, she’s a real champion for hypertension prevention and awareness, and low sodium diets. As a trustee for Blood Pressure UK, she hopes to bring her personal and professional expertise (particularly within fundraising, community engagement, social change) to support the charity to grow.

Professor Graham MacGregor, Chair of Blood Pressure UK said: “We’re really excited to welcome Morven as a trustee to Blood Pressure UK. She brings a wealth of experience from the voluntary sector, coupled with her own personal blood pressure journey she will make an excellent addition to our team.”
