The TREAT CASP study (UKCRN 14991) is run through University
College London and aims to find the best way to measure blood pressure (BP) in
younger people (aged 18-54 years) with early hypertension. The TREAT CASP study
uses new technology to evaluate blood pressure near the heart rather than
measuring blood pressure in the arm like conventional cuff-based monitors.
Measurement of blood pressure near the heart may give doctors a more accurate
measurement and may help identify people who would benefit most from early
blood pressure lowering.
The TREAT CASP study is looking for men aged 18-54 years who
have mildly elevated blood pressure and who would be willing to attend for a
cardiovascular health check at University College Hospital in London. For more information call the study team on 0207
