GMTV put blood pressure in the spotlight when film crews broadcast live from screening vans at Liverpool Street Station in London at the launch of Know your Numbers! Week 2009.
The breakfast television programme interviewed Blood Pressure Association Executive Director Mike Rich and filmed a City banker having his blood pressure checked by the BPA's health screener Ashley Alcock.
The live broadcast took place at 7am on Monday 7 September, at the charity's blood pressure screening vans on the concourse outside Liverpool Street Station, with news bulletins publicising Know your Numbers! Week throughout the morning's 6am- 9.20am show.
The screening van 'Pressure Stations' are offering free blood pressure checks to commuters from 7.30am-3pm on Monday 7 September, before visiting other venues throughout South West London throughout Know your Numbers! Week. They are among 1,400 Pressure Stations offering free blood pressure checks nationwide as part of the award-winning event.
