Know Your Numbers! Week, 18-24 September 2017
Know Your Numbers! Week is the UK's biggest blood pressure testing and awareness event.
High blood pressure has no symptoms – that’s why it’s called the silent killer, so the only way to know if you are at risk from a stroke or heart disease is to have a blood pressure check.
This year's theme was STOP Stroke. High blood pressure is responsible for approximately 60% of strokes and the number of strokes among younger adults is increasing. As 9 out of 10 strokes are preventable we urged people to check their blood pressure as part of Know Your Numbers! Week – regardless of age. Together we can help to prevent death and disability from stroke and heart disease caused by high blood pressure.
Help us to STOP stroke and heart disease by finding out your blood pressure numbers at a Pressure Station near you during Know Your Numbers! Week.
You can register to take part to run a Pressure Station for Know Your Numbers! Week 2018, taking place 10-16 September here.
