Know Your Numbers! Week, 12-18 September 2016

Are you a risk taker? You are if you don't know your blood pressure numbers.

Last year we are encouraged people to 'Know Your Numbers!, Know Your Risks! by getting their blood pressure checked either at one of our Pressure Stations during the week, via community pharmacy or practice nurse or via self-care at home (BP monitoring at home).

High blood pressure has no symptoms – that’s why it’s called the silent killer, so the only way to know if you are at risk from a stroke or heart disease is to have a blood pressure check. We’re asking people not to take unnecessary risks: now’s the time to Know Your Numbers!, Know Your Risks!

Help us to prevent stroke and heart disease

Friends, family and colleagues were asked to go along to a Pressure Station and get their blood pressure checked - we had events up and down the country and with your help we lowered the nation’s blood pressure.

The find a blood pressure check near you tool is live on our website. Pop along to a local Pressure Station to have your blood pressure tested and get advice about how to keep healthy, for free.

A blood pressure check is quick, painless and it could save your life.

Blood Pressure UK’s Know your Numbers!® Week is the UK's biggest and most far reaching blood pressure testing event and awareness week. Each year, hundreds of "Pressure Stations" offer free blood pressure checks across the UK, enabling thousands of people to get a free blood pressure check.

You can register to take part to run a Pressure Station for Know Your Numbers! Week 2017, taking place 18-24 September here.
